@startoverstrategy: One of the things I've realized while rebuilding after divorce is that I love working for myself. After an unexpected injury, surgery, and job loss, I had to rebuild...again. And this time, I learned something important: I don't want my financial security to depend entirely on someone else's decisions ever again. When I own my business, I'm responsible for what happens next. If business slows down, I get to figure out why. If I want to improve my marketing, I can. If I want to create a new service, I can. I don't have to navigate toxic bosses or difficult workplace politics. I decide how I spend my time. And one of my favorite parts? Being able to build my work around the life I want with my kids. If they have a doctor's appointment or a football game, I don't have to ask permission to be there. Is entrepreneurship easy? Not at all. I'll continue sharing the wins, the mistakes, and everything I'm learning along the way. But for me, after years in traditional roles where I was taught to support everyone else's vision, building a business has become an opportunity to build a life with more agency, responsibility, and freedom.
