I dont get this, obviously we can use modern language in a movie about older tales, its a stylistic choice and a modern take, even when visually it looks historical. Like are people so strict about idk some kind of rules that actually dont even exist?

He is correct. In ancient Greece the word for father (Patēr) was only used in texts or indirect conversations. Dad (atta) would be used in conversations. Specially by a younger Telemachus talking about his father.

Disagree though. Father is an older term Dad is a modern term. You should use father if your story’s in the past doesn’t matter if it’s not the right language
