As long as it's nowhere that could create confusion for your mail carrier, that's a handy idea! Maybe you could paint it fun colors and label it as a toolbox so it looks less like an actual mailbox.

I’ve been doing this for years with the first home I purchased. I replaced my mailbox when I moved in and started my garden and kept the old one as a garden box lol now in my husband’s home after I got remarried in my new garden. Great idea I think lol everything stays dry and bug free
