Not sure if this makes sense but, I don't think he saw Annabeth choosing between saving Olympus (aka "choosing" Percy) or going to Kronos side (aka "choosing" Luke) as a hard option because to him, choosing the Gods side was always the right thing and he knows Annabeth to do the right thing. But since he doesn't really know who Thalia is as a person he doesn't really know which side she will choose and he thinks it'll be hard for her, not realizing it was hard for Annabeth not to go with Luke since he's always been like a brother/family to her:(

I’ve been thinking about this more and more and I kinda get it now. Percy hasn’t had to feel that with Annabeth, being chosen, because she’s always been there with him since he arrived to camp. In Titans Curse, he’ll see how with her considering joining the Hunters, not only is she considering to choose something else, but to entirely leave him. I hope even more now this comment is brought up in S3 cause I know his crashout over everything is gonna make him appreciate her staying by his side more 🥺

I was thinking about the future in this part tbh. How she knows Percy’s fated to die and could join Luke anyway, but she’s gonna stick by Percy the whole time for the greater good (and still fall for him)

I hope this conversation comes back somehow in Season 3 - in the first few minutes of episode 3x1, Thalia takes off to continue searching for Luke after Annabeth asks for her help on the mission, she’s devastated and I’m sure she’s feeling like Thalia is choosing Luke…
