@profahmedhankir: 3 Signs of Mania from a Psychiatrist Living with Bipolar Disorder Yesterday, I shared that I live with bipolar disorder. Thank you for the incredible support. Today, I want to share three signs of mania that everyone should know. Yesterday, I shared that I live with bipolar affective disorder. I was overwhelmed by your kindness, compassion, and support. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Today, I’m using both my lived experience and my experience as a psychiatrist to raise awareness of mania. The more we understand mental illness, the less stigma there is—and the more likely people are to seek help early. People experiencing mania don’t need judgment. They need compassion. #BipolarDisorder #Mania #MentalHealth #Psychiatrist #EndTheStigma

I was diagnosed with this in my 20s and had none of these traits. put on lithium for depression and anxiety. now all my life I've been diagnosed with this. but only one psychiatrist said I didn't have this but no one has listened.

Thank you so much, I was diagnosed with Bipolar Affective Disorder after having an episode and being hospitalises along with CPTSD. It’s exhausting being in an episode. I am medicated now and live a normal life and work life. It’s still challenging at times but medication has stopped me from having another episode for 11yrs now xx

Thank you so much for sharing. My 20 y/o was diagnosed with bipolar disorder 2 and she is learning about this condition as she continues her journey towards medical school and getting medication adjusted which could be challenging with a condition that is debilitating. Thank your so much for your testimony!

thank you so much for breaking down the shame and telling us your diagnosis ❤️it’s so important to normalise and speak out about bipolar, because it is so horribly misconstrued in most settings. it’s very brave and vulnerable of you and i want you to know how incredibly appreciated it is. it can be so scary admitting to having this diagnosis because so many people just think you’re “crazy” and “unstable”, but we have to start talking about it or these public perceptions will remain stigmatising. i’ve loved your page for years but i love it even more for your bravery ❤️thank you for everything you do!
