this scene is not as good as in the book... also this scene implanted the iron giant in place of ultraman and leopardon which the fact that ultraman was used was significant to the Japanese characters daito and shoot as daito died and he used ultraman in his memory to fight. classic case of mediocre movie adaptation watering down the stakes. also iron giant being used in this fight shows they don't understand his entire purpose of his film and that he chooses to not be a weapon.
