Even if a client doesn't have c diff or another communicable disease or virus, you should always wear gloves when you're doing a task like that. It protects both you and the client. Good grief!

I always tell my patients in simple man lingo...imagine armored roly poly bugs, when they unroll the antibiotics kill those, it's the ones who stay rolled up you have to worry about. They wait, they survive, then they unroll, and multiply. They overcome the colon's natural "good" bacteria and dominate the colon kingdom. That's why cdiff is so hard to get rid of. Ironic part...too much antibiotics can cause cdiff as well.
