I ask first and ppl usually say yes. I feel like reclining isn't necessarily bad, but ppl should be asking first, especially cause some ppl may be leaning near the seat and you can hit them. I've been bonked in the head before

i usually recline a little bit. not too much that it is an inconvenience. but I've had people next to me that weren't as lucky.
