@kikikachoo0: The mom guilt is eating me alive for feeling this way but motherhood with a newborn in the middle of summer feels very isolating. Now excuse me while I go negotiate with my tiny milk manager about my lunch break. 🤍 #postpartum #momlife #motherhood #postpartumjourney

Honestly… I’ve never cried this much before having my baby. We really don’t talk about it to much.

Take her outside. Live your life. She will sleep in a stroller or a carrier. Yes. I’m a mom of two. So not just random advice.

Literally ONE summer, doing the greatest job on earth. Such a blessing to be cooped up inside with an angel.

Put her in her stroller and go for a walk. Go sit on a bench. You can feed her from the bench. Or put her in a carrier and go for walk. Just get outside. You need the sun and vitamin D. Being inside is definitely isolating. There is no reason for you to be stuck inside. They are very portable at that age.

I remember standing there staring out the window being so jealous of my husband mowing the lawn. Those first couple months are so hard, just know that you will find your stride. It will get easier.

I mean this in the kindest mother to mother way - change your perspective. That first year is incredibly hard. So much harder than you ever expect. Yes you are going to miss out on summer, grocery shopping without fear or anxiety, leaving the house without a mile long list of shit to do before even opening the door to go. You do miss out on a lot of fun things. I want you to know I know how you feel. It’s very isolating and full of resentment towards others who can lives normal life. BUT for the first time in YOUR life you have literally brought a miracle into this world. And your a damn good parent if your inside taking care of her and looking out wondering if your missing out on anything. But you’re not. You’re gaining a full year of learning how to show up and foster a bond with your baby that will last her the rest of her life. Your not missing out on summer - summer is a season and it will return next year. Right now you’re gaining your baby’s trust and secure bond. So every time you look out the window - change your perspective and hold that baby tighter and tell her about all the wonderful summers to come. And how lucky you are to be inside a safe home feeding and putting her to sleep. You’re gaining a bond right now that will never leave you. I promise this time right now youre not missing out on anything. You’re gaining so much more than you could ever imagine. You have two little eyes looking up at you grateful to feel safe and loved and held.

honey, it's only one period of your life. it's only one summer, it's only a few months. next year you can set up a kiddie pool and spend every day out playing with your toddler, you can go on coffee dates and walks, you can meet with friends and travel without thinking about the damn pump! now is only one period of your life, you are not missing on anything trust me, baby needs you at this moment but by the time fall comes she will be bigger and you will have much more flexibility and options ❤️from one postpartum mom to another

Gosh Kiki, I wish I could hug you. I remember this feeling, the dread of doing everyday all over again. There’s a good chance some of those couples on a walk enjoying the outdoors, are looking in and seeing you rock your little world, reminiscing about how they used to do that and how fast time went. Your walking season will come, it’s just not right now. ❤️

Two things can be true at the same time. It can be amazing and hard. I’ve learnt that this part is precious and incredibly hard all at the same time. If you can try to get out, during this stage I found parenting was easier when surrounded by people even if strangers. I have no family to support me so needed company from others xx

This is THE WORST. The isolation. I would watch my husband drive away in the morning and feel absolutely despondent. It gets better, I promise 🥰

Don’t have anymore kids. You can be inside being happy to feeding and rocking your baby. It’s all a matter of perspective. This a large part of motherhood and if you feel this way just have the 1 and no more.

Is there a reason you can’t take her out? Walks are fine but family outings are good too! Out to dinner, the park, the pool, etc. baby wearing is a lifesaver if she wants to be held a lot. Plus you can nurse pretty discreetly in the carrier too.

Im packing to go to Italy for a 6 day vacation with my husband and my 1 month old baby by car (I live in France, its a 9h drive from where I live). I breast feed + bottle, I don't know how we are making this work but we'll see when we arrive there. Don't isolate yourself, babies love to go out, in their stoller, they sleep most of the time and you can enjoy life outside, not like before, but its still nice 😘

I felt the exact same way and looked outside too. The sun setting would give me anxiety because of how long the nights were and how lonely.
