kageyama was never a bad person but a very intense kid with social issues and a team that didn't try to understand him, yes he was MEAN but it was never shown to be intentional in every scene shown with kitagawa first he was trying to be HELPFUL and just worded it wrong!! he's more comfortable around karasuno because they accept him despite his bluntness and they actually try to understand the things he says and does, he just needed people who wouldn't immediately judge how intense and harsh he can be.

kitagawa/seijoh didn't try to understand him or how his mind worked. karasuno worked with him to try and understand him and help him work better with others so it benefited the whole team

Still love how Karasuno dont mind if Kageyama makes mistakes. They trust each other completely. They know how passionate he really is. And they are skilled enough to adapt to his prodigy skills. After all they have the talented monster hinata, the consistent abd lowkey precise spiker Tanaka, an underrated ace Asahi, a consistently good floor defender captain, and a smart blocker Tsuki
