Nobody talks about going into governmental accounting. Im an accounting major and have a governmental accounting job and I love it! Pay and benefits great and I feel like not enough students know this is a path they can take without a CPA

I picked accounting and it was the single best decision I made as a young adult. The job market is horrible right now but I have talent aq and recruiters in my email constantly pitching me a new growth opportunity with a significant raise. I have always had multiple offers to chose from, I have loved my career even as a working mom. I get to earn six figures fully remote.

Yes! I have touched SO many industries. I’m specialized in finance now but if the fund I work for shut down, I could go pretty much anywhere and get any job. I LOVE accounting!!!

100% agree, accounting undergrad degree. The accounting degree provided me a broad based foundation and allowed me to pivot my career and ultimately I transitioned into technology. At first as a technology auditor, then consultant and ultimately in cybersecurity working in the financial services industry.

Mastered in accounting went into public and did that for 8 years or so and then went to industry and I love my job! It’s a great career choice.

im currently 18 and ive been on the fence about majoring in accounting, i took 3 levels of classes while in high school but do you think in this job market i would still have good opportunity just with a cpa? i dont really have another passion but i just want to be able to support myself
