I would just leave them there and walk away and if they ask why I left I wouldn’t sugarcoat it I would probably say “ because im not going to associate with you when you are disrespectful to others, I don’t need people to think I act like that too.”

I’ve seen close friends turn away in those moments. I’m upset at first but it’s more of a reason to leave a certain friend group. If someone has your back, then that’s usually a person who respects your friendship and understands 💩 happens.

oh I'd stop it immediately and tell them about themselves and defend the other person and probably reevaluate if I want to associate with people like that. I have always been nice or called out ignorance or people attacking others in public because no one else does and it won't stop if someone doesn't say something. and I was taught to love and care for everyone the same even if you don't know them. be helpful, ask if they are ok and speak up. I wouldn't be ok with myself if I saw something and didn't say anything.

I usually dont agree with smoothing things over but 100% with this. Honestly its tough getting old. You dont fully realize till you get there, and for people that arent old, life has so much pain and grief. Lots of times its disguised as anger.
