that's awesome. I do hate the doom and gloom on marriage and parenting. I will say though, never marry someone until you see them angry/mad and see how the disagree/fight with you.

Been married for 21 years. There will be ups and downs. The best advice I ever received was from my grandparents who were married for over 60 years before my grandpa passed last year. They told me that every morning when you wake up make the conscience decision to love your spouse. Love isn’t a feeling, it’s an action. If you aren’t willing to put the work into it then don’t get married. So every morning I choose to love my husband and he chooses to love me. And we will continue to do that until the day the Lord takes one of us home or until he returns for his bride.

100% marriage is a beautiful thing you will have some hardships everybody will, but it’s how you handle that with each other for each other. That’s what really makes a difference. Sometimes you have to admit that you’re wrong. But essentially communication is always the best way to make sure everything works. Another thing that I would recommend for anybody who is just getting into marriage take the word divorce and throw it away from your vocabulary. It doesn’t exist you anymore. You don’t even know what that word it is. If you guys both remove that word from the dictionary in your mind, then you guys can get through anything. So many people use the divorce as an option. You have to remove that as an option. That way you guys do work through every single problem that you guys do have. Just don’t go to bed angry and just remember that this is the person that you love so even if you’re upset with them, just remember that is the person that you love that is the person that you’re going to be with for the rest of your life, so it doesn’t make sense wasting time being upset at them.

Not 100% true, marriage is hard, because we all grow up differently. But if you love each other why are you always hating on each other. Talk, spend time together and love each other. Married 26yrs together almost 29

If you have to try to make a marriage work. And work to make a marriage work, you're in the wrong marriage. You have to have clear boundaries. Clear everything before you get married. Write it down if you have to what your expectations are. And if one person's expectations do not align with another's, then you don't get married for me. One of my expectations was, you don't ever try to change me. Just because you change.And if you do change, i'm not going to love you anymore.More than likely, because I fell in love with what you are right now

When I was dating my now wife and I proposed, I told my “friends” I worked with, and one of them said that my fiancé is a great starter wife, but he doesn’t see it lasting and he constantly called her the starter or the 1st wife. 20+ years later and going strong!! How’s that for a starter,…. Ass!!
