Sis, I went no contact with my Caribbean mother 8 years ago and never looked back. She always felt I would be back because I didn’t have anyone. I have a husband and a child now and they’re my new family, and I met some wonderful people I now call family. Things will get better!

You hav to LEAVE HER ALONE. No Christmas, Thanksgiving, Birthday visits. My mom tried the same thing. Haven’t visited her in two years,the BEST DECISION EVER. I’m at peace and have not been happier.

the worst thing a child can have are parents who genuinely think they aren't wrong bringing us up and jst know you never need to he embarrassed abt ths u are strong and resilient and alive and that's all that matters ,the only 1 that shld be embarrassed is ur mother with the way she treats her own daughter and as the eldest daughter with many younger siblings I'm proud of you for speaking up and cutting out the negativity in your life
