I think you guys are mixing up "type 4" with "4c". For the love of God, this is 4a which still falls under type 4 hair but it is not 4c. Yes, 4c can be defined but it will never be this loose with just finger coiling. In the photo below, this is 4c hair defined. See how tight the coils are when defined.
