I like RDC but I’m not a “omg I need to meet them” kind of fan. I went to Dreamcon and had a great time. The event wasn’t centered around RDC it was nerd culture. I got to play Xenoverse 3 early, McDonalds gave out free food and worked with a chef to create our own dishes, the amount of free stuff they gave out made me take multiple trips to my car(you could go to the event and not spend a dime), cosplay competitions, wrestling matches, esports competitions with multiple known teams playing, 3 floors of entertainment, artists alley, new manga creators selling their works, after parties, photo booths, YouTube had a booth, car shows, and all kind of fun unique items you could purchase. I’d recommend going and experiencing these events for yourself instead of making assumptions. Heck you could even get a 1 day pass on Groupon for 40$
