@blossomandbranchfarm: When I started the farm, I thought all the plastic wasn’t that big of a deal. Everyone else grew under plastic mulch, in plastic seed trays, with lots of plastic-packaged soils, fertilizers and fungicides. But the more I learned about the function and process of the soil life, the more I realized that maybe—just maybe, there was a better way? A CHEAPER way, a way that didn’t impact the planet the way things do once big business steps in? A return to the way things used to be done. Removing the plastics. Studying the soil respiration. Learning about how, when we listen to the earth, she shows us the way —how the soil life can mineralize the organic matter in the soil into nutrients, how the plants, when left alone, formulate a complex series of signals to the soil to attract what they need, when they need it? Yes, it is possible. I also have all this info in my new book, “The Regenerative Gardener’s Handbook,” as well as for free on our YT channel. See you all there tomorrow. Keep caring. 💚🌎🌱 #gardening #garden #affordable #DIY #plasticfree

Hi!! I’m a high school student going into my junior year, and last year I started growing my own little cut flower farm in Utah. 🌸 My biggest dream is to one day own a greenhouse and help people learn about flowers and gardening. I still have so much to learn, so I’d love any tips or advice you have! Thank you for inspiring beginners like me!

How well does that weed barrier cloth work? I’m also tired of all the plastic and want to experiment with better solutions next year.

Thank you for choosing that journey, it is becoming more clear microplastics are in our food and now in our bodies causing so much unnecessary illness and suffering. I pray more food producers and packaging companies ditch the plastic! Where can i get your book?

I was wondering how I could make a lining inside a planting box. I don’t live in a house but a building because money… but I wanted to start in my own ways but I felt weird lining wood boxes with plastic in contact with soil :/

I bought my dream property 4y ago, acreage, no lawn, healthy forest and 7000sq-f garden space. Then I found it, 7000sq-f of plastic topped with 6-10” of mulch. Every planting is a mound. Nightmare fuel!! Takes an hour just to put a plant in the ground with all the fiddlefuqn around. Every plant was being choked out, cedar roots growing thru the fabric, hastas planted in fir bark no soil. My dream is postponed.
