Not knocking you folks that like to hoard digital media at all… but man I just don’t get it. I watch a movie or show once (with very few exceptions), and never watch it again. Like why are you storing multiple TBs of shit 98% you’re just gonna scroll past. If I ever (very rarely) want to watch a movie again - e.g. - Pulp Fiction - I’ll just go download it again. Watch it. Delete it.

ive been running a server on an old android as my media server. It has jellyfin, sonarr, radarr, prowlarr, qbittorrent and some other miscellaneous programs running and it works fine. Cost me basically nothing, since the phone was laying around and its almost negligible jn energy costs

How do jellyfish work? Sounds to me like its just streaming whatever you bought so its not exactly cheap if you don't pirate all the media content.

I’ve started my own server and here in Canada. I got a Thinkcenter desktop, 8gb RAM (to make it 16Gb), 1 Tb laptop drive used and a switch. I’m at $160 and I’ve already cut about $20/month out of some of my services.
