One of my daddy’s navy buddies reached out to me a few years ago and was very upset when I confirmed my dad had already passed. He told me that the he and the rest of the crew were very sad that they wouldn’t be able to reconnect in this life and that he was a wonderful friend. It still makes me really sad.
