@cocohantas__: I wasn’t in the mood to deal with the MTA trains this weekend, but I still wanted to get out of the house. So I gave myself a challenge: go to Five Below with a $10 budget and find things my 10-year-old self would have loved. My haul: 🫧 Bubbles 🍬 Swedish Fish 🦆 Anxiety Duck ✨ Stickers 🎨 Paint-with-water book And honestly? This challenge reminded me of something. You know how you spend all that money on gifts, and somehow the kid ends up having more fun with the cardboard box it came in? Sometimes we’re so focused on the next vacation, the next event, or the next big thing that we overlook the simple things that can bring us joy right now. Today wasn’t a big adventure. It was bubbles on my terrace, admiring my favorite flowers, and letting my inner child have a little fun. And maybe that’s enough. 💚 Shoutout to @Five Below for making joy accessible. Sometimes we forget that fun doesn’t have to be expensive. #layoff #MentalHealth #nycthingstodo #fivebelow #budgetfriendly
