Birdie’s first time INSIDE a home🥹🫶🏼 She was pretty nervous wt first but little by little, she realized it wasn’t so scary… it was actually pretty cozy! Before long, she was sprawled out on her back like she’d been a couch potato her whole life😂🛋️🥔 Since the day we rescued her, we’ve been getting so many questions about… honestly, everything! But the truth is, we don’t have all the answers yet. These are all questions we have too, and a lot of them can only be answered by watching, observing, and getting to know Birdie. Every day she teaches us a little more about what she can do, what she struggles with, and how we can best help her🫶🏼 We’ve learned that Birdie knows when she has to go to the bathroom. She gets a little antsy, gets herself up, and goes on her own, but she needs a little help fully emptying her bladder afterward. The really encouraging part is that she’s also been able to poop on her own, which honestly surprised us! We’re not making any assumptions about what this means for her legs or what her long-term recovery might look like, but we’re really grateful that she hasn’t lost those bodily functions. We’re always happy to share these little details because we know they’ll be important one day when it’s time to find Birdie’s forever family. She’ll need a home that’s not just willing to give her that little bit of extra care… but genuinely excited to do it! Birdie really loves being part of a family. She absolutely adores her brother Bodie, and after everything she’s been through, watching her sleep peacefully on a cozy couch might just be our favorite thing of all💗
