@danigtattoos: This year’s Hawaiʻi Tattoo Expo piece. I came into this convention with one goal: to disappear into the work. To create something that challenged me, to compete, and to leave every part of myself in the tattoo. We didn’t take Tattoo of the Day, but somehow that feels beside the point. This piece asked everything of us. My client sat with incredible strength, and together we pushed through every obstacle. Especially with me, things fighting against me that seemed determined to pull me away from the moment. Instead, it pulled me deeper into it. Who says tattooing isn’t therapy? A woman, split open, not in death, but in revelation. A snake weaving through the space between flesh and spirit. A meditation on eternal life, the endless cycle of transformation, and the invisible thread connecting time, space, and the soul. Sometimes the greatest reward isn’t the trophy.
