My mom made me painfully aware that she wouldn’t be available for me to try on wedding dresses despite being there for my little sister… for BOTH marriages. Which is a testament of our ongoing relationship. I always felt I was an inconvenience with my own mom, and that translated to my relationships and friendships. I didn’t want to be a burden, so I went to my dress fitting by myself. It was rough because the attendant didn’t understand why I was there by myself. Two other groups that were there to support the brides, mothers, grandmothers, siblings, friends. I overheard my attendant explaining that I was there by myself and I was SO embarrassed. All of those ladies came over to tell me how beautiful I looked and all agreed on the wedding dress I chose, which actually made me bust out in tears because I felt like it was the one. I’ll never forget it, and it was the most validating experiences of my life that I mattered to other women. That was 14 years ago and it still breaks my heart bit also fills it with so much joy. Girlhood is real, and it’s something I put into practice every day.

I got married in 2000 and we drove through Whipsnade Zoo to our reception and a little girl called out "omg there's a princess" I hope that little girl has had her princess moment because she made mine 🩷

We had our photo shoot on Chain Bridge which is one of the most famous bridges in Budapest. Tourists have gone by and they cheered on us and congratulated us. We couldn’t stop smiling. One of my most cherished memories. 🥰

This makes me flaskback to my wedding day at the chruch, the dress was huge I was struggled walking then suddently fell off my feet. The group of kids praised and clapped. My heart melted 🥰

Creo que esto es ignato en el ser humano....yo almenos no puedo reprimir el felicitarle a los novios, aplaudirles o simplemente decirles "enhorabuena" e incluso decirles que están muy guapos a los dos.
