Therapist here. I could not be more proud of you. Untangling trauma and grief is unbelievably hard and your willingness to speak about your pain gives others permission to do that too. Two things can be true at the same time- you can be irrevocably hurt that your parents didn’t protect you and simultaneously miss who they could be and what you wish they would be. There’s no rule book on how to navigate this stuff. You are SO much stronger than you give yourself credit for. ❤️

Please hear me when I say this. First. No contact. Second. EMDR therapy like yesterday. Not saying no contact forever is what you want. But give yourself a chance to at least be of clearer mind, healing, and finding yourself before making the final call. Prioritize yourself especially when no one else does. You deserve it.
