2026 keeps surprising me… in a very good way.✨ ⛰️ We were driving through the mountains my friend and I saw someone trying to catch a little stray dog. He ran into the bushes. I got out of the car and as soon as we locked eyes, I called for him and he crawled right out to me. At that moment, I just knew he was coming with me. 👛 We were actually on our way to catch a ferry, so we had to get out of the car for the crossing. He willingly climbed into my tote bag and stayed calmly in it the entire time. The poor thing was covered in ticks and fleas… but there wasn’t much I could do until we got back home. 🏥 We stopped at the vet to get him some NexGard Spectra, and thankfully the ticks started detaching on the way back. Let’s just say he spent about 8 hours in that pink bag, completely exhausted from this unknown journey. 🛁 We got home around midnight, and that’s when the tick-removal marathon started. My friend and I picked hundreds of ticks off him one by one before giving him a bath with flea shampoo. I made him a cozy bed in the bathroom since he had to stay separated from my other two dogs. 🙏 The next day, he saw a vet at the free sterilization clinic in town. I got incredibly lucky and was able to take a no-show appointment to get him fixed right away. I still don’t know where this story is headed. A third dog was never part of the plan. 💞 But somehow, the moment he stepped out of those bushes and into my arms, it felt like he was already home. To be continued… A huge thank you to my friend Shannon @pureflowcr for all her help, to @Wild Sun Rescue Center for making his surgery possible, and to @Cabuya Lodge Costa Rica for hosting the clinic.
