This separation can lead to alienation, because humans naturally seek purpose, recognition, and the ability to express themselves. The Earth has limited resources, yet industrial capitalism often depends on endless expansion and increasing consumption. New desires are constantly created, encouraging people to define their identity through possessions rather than experiences, relationships, or personal development. This cycle benefits economic growth but can weaken the connection between humans and what truly gives life meaning. However, the problem is not technology or human creativity itself. Innovation can improve society when it serves human well-being and respects ecological limits. The real question is whether economic systems exist to support humanity or whether humanity becomes a tool for economic systems. A more balanced future would require recognizing that humans, society, and nature are interconnected. Work should allow creativity and dignity, while economic activity should respect environmental boundaries. Progress should not only be measured by production and wealth, but also by happiness, freedom, community, and the protection of the natural world. Industrial capitalism represents both human ambition and human contradiction.
