@user3613074280076: This is what medical gaslighting looks like when you have an invisible chronic illness and deal with Doctors who are not well educated on PIDs. I have NO immune system, my labs are always skewed. I don’t even run fevers. It is incredibly frustrating. I came in having seizures (for the first time ever) and could not walk on my own. They wanted to discharge me without further testing. * I was admitted to the hospital for 3 days after this video, and ONLY because I advocated for myself here. #cvidawareness #cvid #medicalgaslighting #immunodeficiency #chronicillness
I have NEVER seen a septic patient with normal labs. Now, mind you, I’m new in the medical field. I’ve only been a nurse for 30 years.

The patient is the one gaslighting. And this is so common to have them come in and request wild tests

Hypochondriac: misinterpreting normal bodily sensations as signs of severe disease, and the anxiety persists despite doctors finding no underlying medical condition.

“I can be septic and have normal blood.” That’s… not how sepsis works…

Stop using the ER as a primary care facility! We is to stabilize life threatening or emergent conditions.

When I was septic I had a fever of 105.7. My labs were also abnormal.

She’s not gaslighting you she is acting within her scope of practice - she is also trying to explain the reasons they have cleared you for medical discharge

This is not gaslighting. They explained each step and why they came to that decision. That’s all we can hope for when going to the doctor.

The ER isn’t for ruling out everything, the ER is only to determine if there is a life threatening condition or not. So you are fine! Go follow up with your OWN specialist!

Emergency department is for stabilizing any imminent life threatening situations. See your primary for this.

People use the ER to get diagnosed. I don’t get it. That’s not their job. This isn’t an emergency.

What do you want them to say if there is nothing showing on the test. Just go to your primary

You are discharged to see your primary. The ER will send a note to your primary you have been seen.

At the ER they manage emergencies. They admit you if they find something. If you are stable then you are discharged. Simple.

Why aren't people going to the regular general practitioners? This is not what the ER is for.
