They could have invested in agriculture and preservation of flora and fauna instead. This is beyond disappointing.

Dr. Mark Daniel :
While there are pros and cons to most changes, the cons in this one might be more than we can handle bro. According to reports, the proposed EY (300 MW) and Hummingbird AI (150 MW) data centres would need 450MW of power combined.
Trinidad and Tobago's installed generating capacity is about 2,134 MW. That means these two projects alone could require about 21% of our total generating capacity.
Where is all that extra electricity going to come from? 🫤

Ppl these 2 proposed data center would use 10,800,000 kWh of electricity every single day, "That 689,360 households", keep in mind T&T has an estimated 421,000 to 450,000 households

How is this project benefiting Trinidad and Tobago?
Apart from the temporary jobs created during construction, what long-term employment will these data centers provide? What is the projected annual government revenue? Has a cost-benefit analysis been conducted? If so, when, by whom, and will it be made public?
Given the enormous demand these facilities could place on our electricity, water, land, and infrastructure, the public deserves to see the investment agreement and understand exactly what Trinidad and Tobago is receiving in return.
At present, something doesn't add up. Transparency is essential before commitments of this scale move forward.
