We shifted the meaning. Green Sprite bottles stood back for the Coca-cola "Un-cola" competition with Pepsi's "Un-cola" Seven-Up also had green bottles. Nowadays, the color green stands for non/un-coffee (decaffeinated), nonfat milk containers, teas, and so on.
