The Salaf as-Sāliheen were known for their deep sincerity and constant eagerness to perform righteous deeds. Whenever they learned something from the Qur’an or the teachings of the Prophet ﷺ, they rushed to act upon it. Knowledge did not make them arrogant or lazy it humbled their hearts and pushed them closer to Allah. They feared being among those who know the truth yet fail to live by it, so they held tightly to every good deed and guarded their actions with ikhlāṣ. But today, many of us fall into the opposite state. We hear reminders, attend lessons, and learn verses and ahadith yet we still delay our obligations and fall short in our worship. We know the importance of prayer, yet we let distractions take over. We know the sweetness of Qur’an, yet we barely open it. We know the value of good deeds, yet laziness keeps us behind. This is a dangerous path, to have knowledge but not act upon it, to understand guidance yet still drift toward the dunya. May Allah bless us with beneficial knowledge, revive our hearts with strong īmān, and keep us firm upon His guidance. Ameen. #smileitssunnah
