KUWAIT CITY, Oct 22:  The General Traffic Department has launched a traffic campaign targeting delivery motorcycles, resulting in the apprehension of several violators, the issuance of traffic citations and the impounding of motorcycles and vehicles found violating traffic laws. The campaign was conducted as part of ongoing security and traffic efforts to improve road discipline and curb dangerous driving practices that threaten the safety of road users. It was supervised by Head of the Traffic and Operations Sector Brigadier General Ahmed Fahd Al-Azmi and led by Director General of the General Traffic Department Brigadier General Rashid Hamoud Al-Hajri, with the participation of Assistant Director General for Traffic Regulation Affairs Colonel Ayoub Ghazi Fathallah. Traffic patrols monitored delivery motorcycle drivers and checked their compliance with traffic regulations, road safety requirements and rules governing their work. The violations recorded during the campaign included failure to remain in the right lane, illegal overtaking, weaving between vehicles, driving on or off sidewalks, inadequate lighting on delivery boxes and failure to wear reflective vests. Several violators were detained and referred to traffic detention, while various traffic citations were issued and a number of motorcycles and vehicles were impounded. The authorities also took the necessary legal action against offenders, including referring those subject to deportation procedures to the competent authorities. The General Traffic Department affirmed that field inspections and monitoring campaigns targeting delivery motorcycles would continue across Kuwait. It urged motorcycle riders and delivery companies to comply with traffic laws and regulations to protect their own safety and that of other road users.
