Get ferry from Salerno to Maiori (€10) a bigger flatter version of Sorrento..lovely beach..less crowded and as you mentioned pizza they start at €6 🍕 We’ve done Amalfi coast a few times now and this would be my recommendation

it's stunning, we were there last year but stayed in Sorrento and explored the amalfi coast. Public transport is so cheap and easy to use. Sorrento is a good base for visiting Pompeii by train or taking a ferry to Capri for the day
