@theoriesofeverything_: Is the Higgs boson elementary or composite? The answer impacts everything, from the universe's mass to the hierarchy problem. Supersymmetry might not be the solution we thought. #Physics #HiggsBoson #ScienceExplained #ParticlePhysics #Cosmology Full podcast with Prof. Philip Mannheim: https://youtu.be/rNXNHYvS7zU
wouldn't even know what to ask google to understand any of this lol

"Higgs particles" don't give mass to anything. It's a fudge that you need to make your Standard Model work.

instead of "The Higgs field gives particles mass"
this is more likely:
"The Higgs field is the Standard Model mechanism by which stable relational informational structures acquire persistent inertia within experienced spacetime."

Our minds use space/time to describe everything it observes, consciousness is timeless/formless experiencing that cannot be quantified for obvious reasons … it’s a mental catch and no matter how deep you dissect it you’ll always resort to using space/time as the language of interpreting something can only be experienced as the present here/now …. Quantify the word Now … or always. That is the boundary of thought, we create time mentally … it isn’t actually there outside of thought

failure to make sensors to detect particles smaller than light: does not prove such particles don't exist.

I wish they would stop saying the higgs gives mass to everything, it only gives mass to the particles but most of my mass comes from the energy exchanged between particles
