Can you test the Alberto knot.. or have you already? That’s my go to because it’s much easier to tie in the elements.. wind, beach, sand, pier etc..

I think the less amount of wraps is making the pressure point on the floro smaller hence why it breaking at 20lbs it took more force the more wraps you added

Thinner the line the more wraps. So with 20-40lb braid, I’m going to wrap 22-25 wraps. 50lb braid to 60lb mono, 18 wraps is sufficient in my experience

Could be a bad batch of line. Could probably return it and get another. Not sure of their return policy. Definitely a smaller diameter for that weight of line than I have noticed on others.
