Looks like pastes. I’m from Pachuca, Hidalgo, Mexico. And in a part of pachuca called Mineral del Monte, British people came and stayed because of the mines. Well they brought with them “pastes” and basically we make this but ours are stuffed with a mix of ground beef, potatoes, onion and spicy jalapeños.
