my old job had pants like these. the back pockets were able to be cut open. however the side pockets were more of a decorative stitch. ask me how I know.

30 years ago I agree, fabric has gone way downhill though and even though the end of the stitching isn't secured it still can damage the garment by just ripping it.

I always leave the pockets on suit jackets sewn up. Keeps a cleaner line and you aren't tempted to start stowing stuff in them them like a pack mule

I have seen men with the stitching in the back of a jacket still there…I usually volunteer to remove it. ( Total strangers!) Often I am a big helper at weddings and formal occasions!

Never in my life have I seen that. In clothes I’ve seen with sewn pockets they aren’t real pockets, if you try to “open” them it’s just a hole now. Never ever have I seen pockets you have to rip open. Must be some rich people problems judging by the words suits and golf 😂
