@swimsy.co: Make Nose Exhaling Automatic↓ The goal is not to stop water from entering your nose completely. Your nose has space inside it - water can physically enter. What matters is what happens next. You can: • Exhale it out • Hold it back • Or accidentally inhale it Most beginners don’t control it yet. Water enters the nose → they don’t stop it → they inhale → uncomfortable feeling. So here’s the progression: 1️⃣ Learn bubbles Start by continuously exhaling through your nose into the water. • Exhale through the nose underwater • Inhale through the mouth above water Practice until it feels natural. 2️⃣ Learn to control the airflow Now try: • Exhale → stop • Exhale → stop • Exhale → stop This teaches you that you can choose when air moves through your nose. 3️⃣ Add breath holds Take a breath. Lower your face into the water. Hold for 5 seconds. Then slowly exhale through your nose. This helps your brain get comfortable with water around your nose without panicking. Once these three skills become automatic, you can start adding kicking and swimming. You’ll notice that less and less water bothers you. Eventually your brain creates a new default setting: Face goes into the water → nose automatically starts working correctly. No thinking required. At first, it feels awkward and uncomfortable. That’s normal. Every swimmer goes through this stage. Your brain is simply learning a completely new breathing pattern. The more time you spend practicing it, the less you notice the water. And one day you’ll realize that putting your face in the water no longer feels stressful at all. It just feels normal. #swimtips #swimcoach #swimtok
