I really really hope that they don’t keep Theo tho. I really hate the whole story line of how they brought this kid in and basically had the child off his parents???? Because he misbehaved like that’s crazy

I think Ryan’s switch happened because he finally got confirmation that buddie is happening. On Fox, buddie was fanon with zero possibility and I think he was sticking with what the network was telling them to stick to. Now that we’re heading into ABC’s fourth season and he’s blatantly playing Eddie as in love with Buck since s8, he has more freedom to lean into it and speak on it because it’s happening

I have a feeling they're not jumping into buddie so soon after switching to abc BECAUSE it's the biggest thing that could happen on this show atp (aside from them 💀 another character). I think they're gonna do it, but they're gonna do everything AROUND it first.

Unrelated to Buddie - but if Tim says only established characters work as love interests, what happens with Harry? I know he’s a newly established main and may not have a love interest for a while since he’s only 19 but does the same thinking apply to him or is that specifically for Buck and Eddie?

someone made a comment under one of my edits saying they think gabi and eddie are gonna get together. i’m genuinely so sick and tired of this fandom seeing a girl and then automatically assuming the show will make them a couple. i was supposed to happen with alex, but it didn’t and to me, it felt like the changed the plan before they even aired the episodes she was in because of the lack of chemistry eddie and her had. it’s the same thing either gabi. all their interactions have been nothing but professional. neither of them have shot a flirty glance to each other or anything like that. my thing is, buddie is SO intertwined in each others lives. there’s not a single person that could even match the same connection unless they take their time developing that but it would take MULTIPLE seasons to get there, so what’s the point if buddie is right there? tim has written himself into a massive hole when it comes to all this bc no one will ever be good enough for eddie and no one will ever been good enough for buck except for each other

if anything theo, and the fact that we KNOW eddie is going to be involved in that storyline is some of the biggest proof of buddie we’ve gotten in awhile. one of the main reasons people even ship buddie in the first place is christopher. adding another kid to that family dynamic is absolutely going to bring in those s2-4 type buddie parallels. i wouldn’t be surprised if we get another “you two have an adorable son” scene

I’m not dooming that it will never happen. My biggest fear is that it won’t happen until the final episode of the series. Or more towards the very end at least. Because I’m afraid Tim Minear loves the baiting more than the actual payoff. I really hope I’m wrong.

100% agree. We were never getting buddie on Fox. The switch to abc was the first time we ever had any chance. I still call it an 8 season slow burn but there’s been no chance until season 7.

Come on Ryan and Oliver blush every time buddie is mention season 10 hasn’t begun yet Theo storyline is parallel to Eddie’s and Christopher‘s storyline besides the network shut themselves foot long time ago about Eddie and Buck relationship from the very beginning I’m hoping for buddie but if it doesn’t happen, that is a network biggest mistake storyline to be shut down quickly, but I don’t think they will not crush the idea of buddie Because there’s potential for the storyline between Eddie and Buck relationship from friendship to romance.

I think that Ryan was always concerned that Buddie would happen as a “fan service” and that it wouldn’t be a thought out storyline. Ryan mentioned in an interview before last season that he and Tim sat down to discuss Eddie’s storyline and role, so maybe during that he expressed that he’d be okay with Buddie if it didn’t appear like it came out of nowhere (to the general audience cause we can read the signs since the first time they met 😏). Last season Eddie did everything he could to not date or express interest in dating
