The daughter who raised herself learned to read a room before she learned to trust one. She became the calm one, the capable one, the one who never needed anything because no one was checking. That role didn't form by accident. A narcissistic family needs someone managing the chaos so the system can keep functioning. She became that person before she was old enough to understand what was being asked of her. Now she scans every partner for the same instability she grew up bracing for. She over-functions in relationships because under-functioning was never modeled in the home she came from. She mistakes a partner's calm for boring and a partner's chaos for chemistry, because chaos is what her nervous system recognizes as love. Even her rest gets managed like a task on a list. Being cared for without earning it feels foreign, even suspicious. That reaction is what happens when a child becomes the parent of the household long before she's ready. ↳ Getting the family out of you means learning to let someone show up for you without you managing it first. 👉 Ready to build the self you were never allowed to have? All is correct, but not as partner. Then you need a parental figure. Find pieces of real mother and father energy in other people who care about you.
You can't expect only your partner to give you the healthy experience your parents didn't provide.

It's a shame that I can only like this once. Best explanation of what actions and statements would profoundly reduce invisible load; as well as give husbands the opportunity to show up as the heroes they want to be (under their own power/prerogative). Thank you😊💕
