Okay here’s an idea for an edit. Yk that mashup of the Hamilton song “wait for it” and “wait for me”. So listen to this. “If there’s a reason I’m still alive when everyone around me has died, I’m willing to wait for it” (and it’s a clip of haymich losing everyone. And then it keeps repeating the “wait for it wait for it” and it’s just his in the hunger games movies while the other side of the screen is Katniss being the mockingjay and it’s “wait for me I’m coming”. You can even include Plutarch in the edit because his and haymich spent years waiting for the plan to fall into place.

For so long I had assumed Haymitch had given up on the idea of rebellion from the way he acted at the beginning of the first movie and only changed his mind when he saw Katniss’ impact, but this edit made me realize that he truly was just waiting for the right moment. The right person. He initially wanted to protect Katniss because he knew she might suffer the same fate as him, but once he saw a vision for how it might actually work, he took that chance. And, in doing that, he finally fulfilled his promise to Lenore Dove
