as a revert who’s had plenty of pork before reverting, it is not good. it’s high in sodium so it tastes very salty, and i was a vegetarian for years, got the bacon question so many times it’s prepared me for this exact obstacle

As someone who gave it up almost a decade ago, I can assure you there’s not much your missing out on. Personally I think there’s hardly any difference in taste having the alternatives; Turkey bacon, beef pepperoni and beef hot dogs.

Honestly yer not missing anything. We only eat bacon when my kids ask for it. It’s not even really good in beans. A ham hock only goes so far. Turkey is just as good. Or even a chili and some butter. It’s not even really good. I grew up eating it because it was cheap and my dad didn’t make vegetables(we were also too poor for vegetables and mostly only ate onions n potatoes)
