Instead, Mario has spent his days confined behind kennel bars, where the stress of shelter life has taken its toll. Outside of his kennel, Mario is a gentle snowball giant who melts for affection and always asks for more pets. He enjoys quietly wandering the yard, chasing a tennis ball, and is consistently respectful around other dogs in playgroup. He’s not interested in roughhousing and loves to wading in the pool 💦. Inside the kennel, however, Mario has developed barrier reactivity and is why he is now scheduled for euthanasia. Yet despite these kennel behaviors, volunteers have repeatedly documented that he is easy to leash, easy to handle outside of the kennel, and returns calmly after walks. The summer heat is no place for his majesty. Please help save Majestic Mario. He’s waiting for his princess peach and his castle- a place to call home 🏰.
