Seriously. Especially in hospitals that are pushing breastfeeding. I had a lactation consultant come in and measure me and teach me how to use the hospital pump and then she goes “and you’ll need to DoorDash some flange inserts because these are a 24 and you need a 17” like, you’re gonna measure me and then tell me it was for no good reason?

especially at hospitals, there should be those little kits you're opening here but in flange sizes ranging from like 13mm-24mm, and they should be measuring anyone trying to breastfeed right there and give them the correct flange size right out of the gate. it can't possibly cost the company more to make the same exact kit with a smaller flange.

spectra literally made a post about how most women are a 17-19mm and when I asked why not just make that the standard size they said because some women are 24mm????? BUT MOST ARNT?

Actually you weren’t wrong. Most people AREN’T a 24mm. Those standard sizing were based off the dairy industry. In fact, most people are between a 15mm to 19mm.

Does your hospital have lactation consultants? When I was in recovery from birth they measured me and brought me flanges that fit into the medela pump parts. They’re a different brand though. Wondering if you could utilize that resource if available to you when you forget your flanges. Cause I’m a 16mm I couldn’t imagine using a 24😭😭💔

The Momcozy ones come with flange inserts, usually 15-17-19-21 I believe. Willow also has a kit you can buy with a bunch of different sized inserts. I mainly plan on using the pumpin’ pal flanges this time around.
