You can claim that you’re “just concerned” all you want, but comparing a real person to a horror movie monster, calling her a skeleton, and making AI edits specifically to exaggerate how thin she is is NOT concern. That is body shaming, and there is nothing caring about it. And even if Ariana is struggling with an ED, she doesn’t simply choose that or have complete control over it. If she is struggling, she is most likely already aware of it and working through it in her own way, with the people around her. Constantly putting her body under a microscope, analyzing every picture and turning her appearance into a public discussion is not going to help her. Ariana has already explained that the body people used to call her “healthiest” was actually the unhealthiest version of her body, and she has repeatedly asked people to stop commenting on bodies. She literally said that “healthy can look different.” You do not know what is happening behind the scenes, and you cannot determine someone’s health just by looking at them. Concern should never be an excuse to humiliate someone. Healthy can look different.
