First of all, the Kandarian Dagger first appeared in the first Evil Dead. Second, there are multiple books, so there are probably multiple daggers.

I mean ash also uses the OG dagger in ash vs evil dead to defeat the destroyer so that very well could explain it as well, more than likely fragments or pieces the wisemen recovered and then used as their own

I think whats going on with the daggers is, there's 3 books, and there's 3 Daggers, each dagger made to combat a separate book! the one we see in the original is meant for the book ash finds, this daggers made to destroy the book from Evil dead Rise, and theres a 3rd dagger to combat the book from the 2013 🤷🏼♂️

The continuity in this franchise has always been questionable. There’s no need to read into stuff like this to much when it comes to evil dead, the franchise is more enjoyable when you learn to accept it

I presumed the blade was potentially broke down into multiple smaller blades so each wise man could have their own defense & then maube a replica of the original was made to confuse the deadites... like they genuinely didnt seem to know what the dagger looked like (hence how alice tricked her dead husband by throwing a normal blade in the cement).

My interpretation was the classic looking one was a replica created by the circle basically to use as a reference. The shiv one was a make shift one that was created by the circle using knowledge from the book.
