@candylisaxo: I saw Leslie's car and had to know if it actually worked... . I've never tried spraying a gradient paint job before, so I attempted a black and gold fade to see how difficult it really is. Getting the two colours to blend cleanly was definitely harder than it looked, but after some lacquer, the final result actually surprised me. 👀
Would be easier to flip your air cap around and paint vertical. Js

Shoot each color almost to center, then put color into two guns and run vertical down center. you'd be surprised how well it works. no buildup on center.

i have done this effect before using AXALTA standox for a mini roof! i am unsure if you have used blender before, in my experience it is best to completely cover the whole bonnet with one colour then splitting the black side fading into the gold into 3 sections using 3 different paint pots first pot with your normal black then another pot with the black and 25% blender and then another pot with 50% blender, using the edge of the bonnet with the normal black paint up to the first section then using the second pot of paint which will have 25% of blender mixed with the black, this will weaken the colour flicking this into the last section then blending closer into the middle with 50% blender mixed with the black paint. use blender over the whole bonnet before apply the black! the idea of splitting it into 3 sections and mixing the blender will soften the blend and also using a full trigger and flicking instead of doing the half trigger technique this will stop the over spray going further into the gold
