Having sheep graze on the moors doesn’t stop a fire from starting when it’s been exceptionally hot and dry and the fire was man made by idiots setting fireworks off. This would still of happened if sheep over grazed the moors. It’s full of peat and that just burns and burns and burns

I live other side of the hill from dovestones, thankfully due to wind direction not affected by smoke. My parents live 2 mins away in the village and have had to stay indoors with doors and windows shut.

There's a bit of a caveat to it. your dead right, but equally the modern constant low density grazing regime of moorlands as against the late spring/early summer mob grazing that would of historically taken place is also a factor.
