Rather, they don’t even want your customers. They want your customers’ money. If you don’t have paying customers, you are irrelevant to VCs. There have been very few exceptions to this, but it’s better to accept upfront that you probably won’t be one of them.

💯💯💯 Huge need for people caught in the mindset that it’s either the corporate or vc route. Peter Levels (@@levelsio is a great example of build a portfolio of indie projects that are now real assets, plus the cost of experiments and ongoing support are dropping so this is definitely aligned with heavily agentic orgs. It’s a chance for the founders personality and perspective to find a relatively niche market fit.
