the lack of an agreed upon singular word for "to lock" in Spanish is so frustrating to me because "la puerta está cerrada con llave" is clunky af

One word I wish was more directly “translateable” to Spanish is silly. Like something dumb but in a good way. In Spanish saying bobo, tonto or even tontito is still too harsh and doesn’t convey silly in the right way

In Catalan, to say “to nod” it’s said “fer que sí amb el cap” which literally means “to make yes with the head” 😂😅

Wouldn't tocayo be name twin? In Norwegian, we say name twin (navnetvilling) or name brother/sister (navnebror/navnesøster) for someone who has the same name. I thought you also said that in english?

When it comes to slang, we literally add “-ear” or “-eando” to the end of the english word 😭😭 like “chill-eando” or “slay-ear” and usually said in an unironic way. If i’m not wrong those suffixes are the equivalent of -ing
