Never fly out of MCO in the afternoon in the summer our storms always do this to flights as a local. We had guests that got stuck Monday had to stay with us until Tuesday morning.

I always give us a recovery day from traveling home. that way it doesn't matter much if we get delayed. that way I can do laundry and nap all day before going back to work 🤣

That has happened to us multiple times at MCO due to weather. We now always add a buffer day to travel home from Florida.

Never flown out of there but I'm flying from LAX to Atlanta tonight and land at 4 o'clock in the morning so I'm praying that we don't have this issue then! Best of luck to you guys and I hope that you get home safe!! ❤️

Sorry, no great solutions for today. For the future, remember that you should never plan afternoon flights out of the south, our 3pm thunderstorms really mess with flight schedules.

Why would you want to sit? You’ll sit for 4-ish hrs back to DTW! It doesn’t look any different on any other day at MCO.

I spent the night at Ohare in May going from Florida to Michigan, good luck sir… snacks are the only answer and calories don’t exist in the airport
